Cookies & browser storage
TDF uses cookies and browser storage to provide the service you request. Optional Google Analytics stays off until you accept it. Use Privacy settings at the bottom of any page to review, reject, or withdraw your choice.
Essential storage
This supports authentication, assessment continuity, payments, security, and remembering your privacy choice. Disabling it through your browser can prevent these features from working. Rejecting optional analytics does not disable it.
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| tdf_privacy_choice | Records accepted or rejected analytics, the notice version, and when you chose. It is not an advertising identifier. | Up to 180 days; updated when you change your choice. |
| tdf_participant_session / tdf_purchaser_session | Keeps your verified portal session signed in. | Up to 8 hours; sign-out clears the session cookie. |
| tdf-report-grant-… | Authorizes a requested report download. | Up to 15 minutes. |
| Assessment draft storage | Preserves participant details, answers, and assessment access so you can resume in this browser. | Local storage persists until cleared; it does not currently have an automatic expiry. |
| Portal and learning browser storage | Supports verification steps, preferences, and learning activity. | Session storage ends with the browser tab’s session; local storage persists until cleared. |
| Authentication and payment-provider storage | Supports authorized administrator sign-in and Stripe payment/security functions when you use those services. | Varies by provider and the function used. See their linked privacy information. |
Optional analytics
If you accept, Google Analytics measures visits to an approved set of public resources and information pages. It may set _ga and _ga_… cookies. Our integration limits their configured lifetime to 180 days without extending it on every visit. Your choice is re-requested when it expires or the choice version changes.
Google receives technical connection and browser/device information and a cookie identifier. We supply only the public page’s canonical address and title, without URL query strings, fragments, or referrer details. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google Signals are disabled in this integration.
The analytics document is separate from the page’s form and account content. The tag is never loaded by this feature on the assessment/home page, purchases, private portals, reports, learning, administration, or these privacy pages. We do not send names, email addresses, answers, results, or access tokens to Google Analytics through this integration.
Rejecting or changing your mind
Accept and reject options are presented together. Closing settings without choosing does not grant permission. Rejecting or withdrawing stops the analytics document and attempts to remove this site’s Google Analytics cookies. Essential storage and your assessment are preserved. Withdrawal does not erase data already received by Google; contact us about a related data request.
A detected Global Privacy Control signal overrides an analytics acceptance and keeps optional analytics off. Change that browser setting before choosing to accept analytics. If the browser cannot save a valid choice, analytics stays off.
Choices apply to this browser and site address, not automatically to another device. Clearing cookies may remove the preference and result in a new prompt. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser. Clearing assessment storage can remove your local resume information; it is different from requesting deletion of server records.
